Hilco (formerly known as Hilarius Company) was founded by Watze Hilarius in 1915. The company first started of manufacturing wire nails and roof slates. Throughout the decades Hilarius Company turned its brand name into Hilco and moved from manufacturing wire nails and roof slates to producing a complete range of welding consumables and abrasives.
As most of you would agree, 2020 is not the best year to celebrate anything. 2020 turned out to be a difficult year for everyone, so when September came up on the calendar, we know we couldn’t celebrate our 105th anniversary in a big way!
We figured to keep our celebrations digital and throughout the whole of September we communicated via our social channels about our history as well as initiating weekly giveaways full of Hilco goodies! By the end of September our followers got up to date with the complete Hilco historic timeline, but more importantly… many followers won Hilco related prizes from our giveaways!
On the 28th of September, we officially celebrated our 105th anniversary. A good time to celebrate and focus our attention on our new key development subjects:
- Developing new competencies through digital business transformation
- Active involvement in sustainability initiatives
- Strengthening, fostering, and expanding our customer base
